Low Carb Mindful Eating- Update

Hi! I hope you all had a great weekend! In my last post, I talked about how I was headed out to the lake for a girls weekend. I typically go off the rails and end up stuffing my face with whatever is there. I planned on practicing being mindful of what I was actually doing so that it didn’t happen to me this time.

This is me, my mom and my sisters. I am on the far right. We spent the weekend with my Aunt and 4 other of her friends from various parts of Texas. I had decided going in that I was really going to try this time. Not to be miserable because I felt like I was missing out on something, but to be mindful and really pay attention to what my body wanted.

Well, I’m happy to report that being mindful really did work. I was worried about eating pie from Bluebonnet Café. I did have a bite of pie, well actually 2 bites of pie, and I was perfectly content with that. I got the taste and realized I was fine without it. And, bonus, I didn’t feel miserable after I ate it. It’s amazing how your body feels when you stop fueling it with sugar.

I was able to have fun with my family and friends and focus on the company more than the food. I was perfectly happy. I came home feeling more confident. I’m going to keep practicing being mindful so that I don’t do things that are counter productive to my goals that I have.
